We'll be seeing a lot of Drake on Charts Don't Lie for the foreseeable future. The rapper dominated the Billboard 200 last week, and after getting bumped from #1 by Imagine Dragons' new album, he's sitting comfy at #2, moving over 150k in his second week. It's a difficult feat for most rappers to move that much their first week out, let alone their second week. The Toronto rapper also broke a Billboard record this past week (a record which he previously set, mind you), with every single song off If You're Reading This It's Too Late charting on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. A similar occurrence is happening on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, with about half the project entering last week and even more tracks off it debuting this week. 1) Drake—If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late: Drizzy had a massive first week out with his mixtape-album IYRTITL, but he wasn’t able to keep the #1 Billboard spot locked. He was overtaken by Imagine Dragons’ in his second week out, and drops to #2. He’s still moving units, with a combined number of 187,225 copies sold and streamed (sales: 129,118). His total sales have surpassed 500k, at 623,864.
2) Nicki Minaj— The Pinkprint: Another Young Money rapper staying afloat on the Billboard 200 is Nicki Minaj. The Pinkprint rose up a few spots this week, arriving at #9. The album streamed and sold 41,445 copies, but most of that number comes from streams (sales: 16,726). Total sales stand at 525,748.
3) J. Cole— 2014 Forest Hills Drive: This week Cole doesn’t move from #16. After charting for 11 weeks, the album moved another 25,335 (sales: 17,366), bringing his total sales that much closer to platinum at 785,477.
4) Ne-Yo—Non-Fiction: The new album from Ne-Yo made a 3-spot jump this week to #21, after charting for 4 weeks. The r’n’b singer moved 16,512 units this past week (sales: 9,575). His grand tally comes up to 92,773 copies.
5) Pitbull— Globalization: Pitbull actually saw a big spike this week, rising up from #45 to #25. Mr. Globalization had streams largely to thanks for this, moving 14,635 units. Sales were less than 3k though (sales: 2,945). His total sales are 115,775.
6) Rae Sremmurd—SremmLife: SremmLife is proving to be quite a successful debut album for the Ear Drummers’ signees. They’ve risen up ten spots this week to #29. The duo’s sales and streams number this week is predominantly composed of streams, with 13,894 units (sales: 4,587). Their total sales reached 77,373.
7) Raheem DeVaughn—Love Sex Passion: Raheem makes his Billboard entry at #31 this week, with Love Sex Passion. The r’n’b album managed to move 13,099 opening week (sales: 12,639).
8) Beyonce— Beyonce: In her 63rd week on the charts, Bey falls down a few spots to #34. The Queen Bey did about half streams and half sales, with her combined number coming out to 11,861 (sales: 5,068). Her total sales are 2,223,000.
9) Kid Ink—Full Speed: We saw Ink drop off quickly in his second week out, and this week Full Speed continues its descent down to #51. In his third week out, Kid Ink moved 8,977 units (sales: 5,202), with total sales reaching 38,880.
In addition to taking over the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, Drake is also doing very well on the Hot 100 chart. As we saw last week, a bunch of tracks off IYRTITL are charting, and continue to rise up the ranks this week. We'll start at the bottom, with Wiz Khalifa & Iggy Azalea's "Go Hard Or Go Home" debuting at #100. Below that, Drake's "6 Man" enters at #97, "Now & Forever" at #95, "Used To" up 7 spots at #84, "6 God" at #83, "Preach" below it at #82, and right below that, "No Tellin" comes in at #81. Kanye West's breaks up all the Drake with "Only One" at #74, but then it's right back to Drizzy with "Know Yourself" entering at #70, and "Blessings" from Big Sean under it at #68. "10 Bands" makes a 30-spot leap up the charts to #58, and "Legend" makes a similar jump to #52. Fetty Wap's "Trap Queen" makes a 6-spot rise to #35, and Chris Brown & Tyga's "Ayo" rises up slightly to #32. Drake's not done yet though, with "Energy" climbing up 23 spots to #26. #16 and #17 are occupied by two Nicki Minaj tracks, "Truffle Butter" and "Only" respectively. Usher's "I Don't Mind" closes out the r'n'b/hip-hop content at #13.
