During a live DJ set he performed at the Music Box in San Diego, California, Madlib busted out a few unreleased Mac Miller joints from the Maclib project he's purported to be sitting on. Its existence was only reported about a month ago when producer Thelonious Martin sat down with DJBooth to discuss his recollections of fallen rapper.

According to Martin, Madlib doesn't seem to be comfortable with the notion of exploiting the work of a dead person, considering Mac never consented to give the green light while he was alive and kicking, so we're led to believe. Nonetheless, Madlib did brandish a few of the soul-ridden Mac Miller joints, one boasting the signature licks of a mutual friend in Thundercat.

"Fuck the b*tch, met her once/Think she the one 'cause I met her at a record shop/We start from a line then connect the dots/I'm forever hot," Mac Miller can be heard rapping in his signature crackly voice. Madlib's willingness to share the music in public is nevertheless a positive sign, something Mac Miller diehards will read into long and hard, one would imagine.

His Bandana project with Freddie Gibbs is seemingly moments away from receiving its marching orders, a hefty sample clearance hanging in the balance. Let us know, is Maclib of any interest to you? Feel free hit us with your thoughts on the ethics of this situation, down below in the comment box.
