While 50 Cent is no stranger to doling out digital beatdowns, he recently found himself contending with a powerful, real-world foe: The NYPD. Unfortunately for the beloved rapper, lines were undoubtedly crossed. A Commanding Officer by the name of Emanuel Gonzalez apparently requested that the rapper be "shot on sight." It's unclear whether there was validity in his threat, or if the comment was merely a poor case of gallows humor. Either way, it didn't sit well with 50, who summoned the legal eagles in retaliation.

Despite the possible severity of the Officer's "open season" comment, 50 has since adapted in his usual fashion. Which is to say, turning everything into a farce. This morning, he took to Instagram to have a laugh about the situation, bringing his son Sire Jackson into the equation. "Wait so why the Cops want to shoot my dad?" writes 50, captioning the photo as if his own son. He then switches to dad mode, wondering "shit how do I explain this?"

While it's good to see 50 in high spirits, the notion that a police officer can casually issue a violent threat without repercussion is disturbing, to say the least. Yet it would appear the ongoing saga has revived 50's dormant "get the strap," which suggests, above all else, it's business time. More updates on this story to come as they develop.
