The story behind Yandhi is a puzzling one. After working on five albums last year for himself and his G.O.O.D. Music cohorts, it appeared as though Kanye West would be releasing a sixth on Black Friday. As we neared the announced release date, it became more and more clear that we wouldn't be receiving the work at all. Ye travelled to Africa to try and pick up a natural vibe for the record but not even that was enough to get the perfect sound for Yandhi. The recording artist ended up pushing the album back indefinitely. Now, it seems as though he's back at work on the project, enlisting another supergroup of talented producers and musicians to help him out.
Much like he did in Wyoming last year, Kanye seems to have holed himself up in Miami with a bunch of other artists to complete Yandhi. According to TMZ, that's likely the reason why he surprised his wife, Kim Kardashian, with a new $14 million spot in the Florida city. The publication notes that everybody from Lil Wayne (!!!), 2 Chainz, Migos, Timbaland (!!!!), YNW Melly and Tee Grizzley have been working with the Chicago icon on Yandhi. It's unclear whether all of the aforementioned people will be featured on the album or if they're helping solely as songwriters, producers, and other behind-the-scenes roles.
There is still no release date announced for Yandhi. However, this news is sure to get people a little pumped for its eventual arrival.
