Getting put under for surgery can be a very scary experience, but people generally trust that the doctors will act professionally, and do their utmost to ensure that nothing goes wrong throughout the procedure. It'd be quite a violation of that trust then, if your surgeon was filming a rap video while you were unconscious on the table.
That's exactly what Dr. Windell Davis-Boutte, a cosmetic surgeon out of Atlanta, did, and the videos have since caused quite a bit of controversy. In the over 20 videos posted to her YouTube channel, Boutte can be seen rapping to songs like O.T. Genasis' "Cut It" while taking a scalpel to a patient. In others, her assistants in the operating room can be seen acting as back-up dancers, while Boutte performs tracks like Migos' "Bad and Boujee" under the name "Dr. Booty Baby."
These videos alone would already be a huge scandal on their own, but Boutte appears to be familiar with controversy. An investigation by WSB-TV 2 discovered that despite her claims to be "Atlanta's most experienced cosmetic surgeon," Boutte is a constant subject of malpractice suits. Outside of the rap videos, she's also gotten into trouble for mangling the stomachs of two of her patients, and allowing another to go into cardiac arrest during surgery, leading to irreparable brain damage. She's already settled five malpractice suits in the past six months, and has another four pending.
There's nothing wrong with being a doctor who raps, but for the sake of the patients, please leave the two separated.
