The 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards are going down right now at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, which are being hosted by comedian Tiffany Haddish. So to kick off the night right, Tiffany put together a hilarious opening monologue that captured & made fun of this year’s biggest pop culture events, including Black Panther, Girls Trip, and even a pregnant Cardi B. However, it was her roast session on some celebrities in attendance that gave the crowd the most laughs.
For the first part, Haddish inserted herself into Black Panther's ceremonial scene, while working in her Girls Trip castmates Jada Pinkett Smith and Queen Latifah into the edited clip as well. Haddish then took the stage in a white gown inspired by Cardi's pregnancy-revealing look on Saturday Night Live while putting a parody spin on her hit smash "Bodak Yellow." "These is rented/these is not my size/these toes turning blue” she hilariously spits.
Lastly, Haddish went on to close the opening monologue by roasting a handful of the celebrities in attendance, which got the most laughs from the crowd. She compared the Kardashian family to the Star Wars franchise, cracking, "They make a ton of money, a new one's always popping up and they’re ruled by a bossy overlord who sleeps in a mask and she loves black men." She also roasted Zendaya, Nick Jonas, Chris Pratt, the cast of Stranger Things and Seth Rogen. "I like you Seth," Haddish joked. "You're my favorite bearded white man since Abraham Lincoln.”
However everyone looked to be in good spirits about the roast session, including Kim Kardashian who was seen laughing out loud about her & her mother's comments.
