If you haven't heard yet by this point, Kendrick Lamar is kind of a big deal. After winning one of music's most prestigious prizes and becoming the first hip-hop artist to win a Pulitzer Prize, the rapper took his fiancée on a trip to celebrate the accomplishment. A truly groundbreaking moment for the hip-hop community, Kendrick's win was well-deserved as he took time aside before embarking on a wide festival run this summer. He and his wife-to-be Whitney Alford gave thanks to God by visiting one of the holiest places on the planet: the home of the Pope, Vatican City.
TMZ spotted the Compton product at the Vatican, taking in all the sights and enjoying several museums during the day. He and Whitney blended in with the other tourists who were enjoying the country, making a rare public appearance. Kendrick is one of the most private celebrities out there, keeping all public affairs to an absolute minimum as he is seldom seen out and about, especially with his fiancée. The Pulitzer Prize win was an incredible moment for the 30-year-old, marking him as one of the greatest in the game right now and cementing him among a history of talented performers.
