Bennett charged with felony over Super Bowl LI incident.

Former Seattle Seahawks defensive end, and current member of the Philadelphia Eagles, Michael Bennett has reportedly been charged indicted by a grand jury in Texas for allegedly pushing a 66-year-old paraplegic woman following Super Bowl LI at NRG Stadium in February 2017.

According to reports, after the New England Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, Bennett tried to get on the field to celebrate with his brother, Martellus, who was on the Patriots at the time. A security team, including the paraplegic 66-year-old woman, reportedly informed Michael Bennett that he had to use a different entrance, but he pushed through anyway, injuring the woman in the process.

Per TMZ Sports,

According to the Harris County Texas District Attorney, Bennett "shoved his way on to the field where players were gathering to celebrate."

The charge ... "injury to the elderly, includes intentionally and knowingly, causing bodily injury to a person 65 years or older."

It's unclear exactly what injuries the woman sustained, why the charges have only been brought forth now, or whether the Seahawks and Eagles knew about it before agreeing to a trade for Bennett last week.

Nonetheless, Bennett was indicted on a felony charge of injury to the elderly, which carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison as well as a $10,000 fine. A warrant has reportedly been issued for his arrest and prosecutors are working with his counsel regarding his surrender, according to ABC6.
