Rico Nasty is a polarizing figure among most hip hop heads but she's undoubtedly paving her own lane in the rap game. Her aesthetic and sound  have a clear influence of punk rock but she combines that with hip hop for her own unique sound. Her 2017 mixtape, Sugar Trap 2, helped build the buzz that she's been riding on. As she gears up to drop her debut album, she shares a major announcement with her fans.

Rico Nasty is officially signed to the majors. The rapper took to Instagram to announce that she's officially signed a record deal with Atlantic Records. However, the amount that she signed for has yet to be revealed.

"Oh and this happened . Me and cam are very happy . I signed to Atlantic Records," she wrote alongside a picture of her and her son at the Atlantic Records office. "Thankful for my ENTIRE team . Thankful for all my fans ❤️ only up from here guys."

The announcement came shortly after she shared the album art and release date for her debut album, Nasty, which will be dropped through Atlantic. She's yet to reveal the tracklisting but the album will be dropping exactly a week from now on June 15th.

In addition to landing her record deal, she also covered FADER's summer issue recently. Clearly, things are going up for Rico Nasty. With a new record deal and her major label debut dropping next week, we're excited to see what she has in store for the future.
