Lil Yachty has not given fans a solo album since 2023, and many are clamoring for something fresh from the rapper.

Lil Yachty has been keeping things low-key as of late. Over the past couple of years, he has dropped a couple of Concrete Boys compilations. Furthermore, in 2024, he dropped Bad Cameo with James Blake. However, his last solo album was back in 2023 with Let's Start Here. This was Yachty's infamous foray into psychedelic rock, which was beloved upon release. These days, it is looked back on less fondly.

Throughout all of this, Yachty has found himself in feuds with Karrahboo. Not to mention, his friendship with Drake doesn't seem to be bearing the fruit it once did. Some have wondered if Yachty even wants to make music anymore.

On social media this week, Yachty appeared to answer that question, once and for all. He said a new album is being worked on. That said, the fans are going to have to wait a few months.

Lil Yachty Readies New Album

"Album on the way though, it's coming, I swear to God… one of these days, next year," Yachty said. It is a timeline that is not extremely surprising. You wouldn't expect something new to come out so soon. Especially at a time when the labels and distributors are trying to save projects for next year.

Either way, the prospect of a new Yachty album is exciting. He has changed up his sound numerous times throughout his career, and there is really no telling what a new project is going to look and sound like.

If you're a Yachty fan, this is definitely some exciting news. Although there are certainly quite a few Yachty haters out there who will be just as eager to tune in.
