After Cardi B offered a response to Mona Love of "The Joe Budden Podcast," Mona has since offered a sincere apology.

Mona Love's recent conversation about colorism on The Joe Budden Podcast implicated Cardi B. The comedian spoke about a clip from a Cardi livestream in which she stated that there are many artists and entertainers who don't know how to promote themselves. Mona argued that this is not the full picture, as colorism has a lot to do with it. At the time, the podcast co-host argued that Cardi should know better, and that downplaying these things is harmful.

Cardi B eventually offered a strong response to the situation. She explained how the clip Mona used was edited and that it doesn't portray how she really feels about the subject. Cardi subsequently went on to say that Mona used to be in her DMs asking for surgery and career advice. That last tidbit was certainly a personal shot, and one that some fans felt was unnecessary.

That said, Mona took it in stride as she called into The Joe Budden Podcast on Tuesday. The comedian revealed that she had already apologized to Cardi. Furthermore, she feels bad that the rap superstar has been flooded with hate over this.

"I apologize. I DM'd Cardi when she first said anything because, like I said on the pod, like I really didn't think that she would like be heard or upset about it and that never was my intention," Mona said. "Like her saying that I'm the cause of her being dragged right now, like that sh*t makes me feel horrible. Like I wouldn't want nobody to experience that sh*t."

Mona Love Gives Her Apology

Joe Budden replied to Mona, stating that the podcast's platform is massive, and these kinds of things can happen. He also said that the colorism debate was a good one to have, but Cardi B didn't need to be part of the conversation.

"I feel like we could have had the colorism conversation sans Cardi, right? That's a bigger conversation to be had. So to make her the poster child of it, which I'm again, wasn't your intention," Budden retorted.

Mona also made it clear that next time around, she will be doing more research. Had she known this was an edited clip, she would have avoided it altogether.

"If I knew that that clip was edited, that clip was either, even if it wasn't edited, if I knew it was that old, it would have been a total different response from me," Mona continued. "I just got to step the f**k up and get on some real drill. I know people probably hear this like, 'Duh, you should research everything you talk about,' but the truth is people don't. So um I, speaking for me, I just got to tighten up like that, because this was avoidable."

The situation between Cardi B and Mona appears to be resolved. In the end, an important conversation was had and a misunderstanding was squashed.
