New music seems to be on the way, too.

There still isn’t a confirmed line-up for Coachella just yet, but we do know that the organizers are working behind the scenes right now to confirm their headliner. Typically, Coachella shares the line-up at the top of the new year, but the rumors circulate months before. Most recently, a report suggested that SZA would be headlining one of the three days alongside Tame Impala and Dua Lipa. This marks the second rumor in recent weeks suggesting SZA would be a headliner, and it seems like it might hold some weight.

As reported by Consequence Of Sound and spotted by Redditors, SZA shared a screenshot of a TMZ report about Coachella’s headliners in a carousel post on her burner account and appeared to confirm that she will be performing. Moreover, she suggested that a new album is finally on the way.

“Headed to Tahiti to work this album some more. Mulling over big decisions. Saying yes when ur unprepared is crazy. Been doing it my whole career tho lol… might as well,” the caption read.

Will SZA Headline Coachella?

Interestingly, it was initially rumored that Drake would also be headlining Coachella, though it seems like things have changed in that regard. Still, the idea of SZA holding down the headlining slot feels like a promising indication that we’ll get some new music beforehand. She recently appeared on “Flower In A Hurricane,” Justice’s new song for GTA VI, alongside Tame Impala and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard. She also appeared on Steve Lacy’s “is it cool?” earlier this year and on Isaiah Rashad’s It’s Been Awful song, “Boy In Red.”

In March, SZA also hinted at having even more music with Steve Lacy in the cut, enough to make “a random little project.” Perhaps we could expect Steve Lacy to join SZA on stage at Coachella next year. If not, we’ll probably be fortunate to get a new collab from them.
