Wiz Khalifa’s legal problems overseas might see a resolution in the near future. According to All Hip Hop, he now has a new hearing set for October 29th for his weed conviction. However, only one part of his bid was accepted by the Romanian court.
The main part that Wiz’s team argued was that the court failed to follow the proper protocol surrounding the guilty verdict for smoking weed on stage in the country.
Per the case record, which uses T.C.J to refer to Wiz’s real name, “Pursuant to Article 431 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, in conjunction with Article 426(a) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, [the court] admits, in principle, the annulment challenge filed by T.C.J. against criminal decision No. 1222/P of December 18, 2025, issued by the Constanta Court of Appeal in case No. 7777/118/2024.”

What this means is that the court accepted Wiz’s claims that he wasn’t told of the court date properly. That allows him to bring this claim, even if he wasn’t there or could provide an explanation why. It should be noted that the court hasn’t agreed that this occurred, but it does allow Wiz’s attorney to present their argument in court. “Pursuant to Article 432(1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, [the court] sets a hearing for the annulment challenge on October 29, 2026, at 1 P.M., for which the defendant’s chosen lawyer shall be notified,” the notice adds.
While Wiz initially received a 3,600 lei fine, the state wanted him to be behind bars, and he was eventually sentenced to nine months in prison after being found guilty of possessing weed for personal use.
