Doechii is looking to drop her debut album following the success of Alligator Bites Never Heal. This is a project that won her the Best Rap Album Grammy, and it propelled her into superstardom.
That said, there are still plenty of doubters and detractors out there. Some have accused her of being an industry plant. Others believe her rise was thanks to bots and label intervention. However, Doechii has remained steadfast in working on her craft and creating memorable art.
With the Swamp Sessions officially making a comeback, Doechii penned a letter to her fans on Monday, in which she revealed where she's been ahead of her debut project. As she explains, she has become a student of the game and is looking to evolve hip-hop's sound and history.
“I spent the last few years relearning Hip-Hop as a student," Doechii revealed. "Studying it’s language, history & roots. Now I feel inspired to contribute to evolve it.”

Doechii Relearns Hip-Hop
Doechii went on to say that she is excited to showcase black womanhood in her art, and put it back at the forefront of hip-hop and pop. She is clearly very passionate about her next chapter, and that passion is contagious.
“A mission is brewing inside of me (a responsibility really) to see black womanhood exist at the center of Hip-Hop AND Pop," Doechii continued.
As part of her first Swamp Sessions release, the artist dropped the song "Bombs," which has received praise from her fanbase. Given her past releases, there is no doubt that Doechii has a track record of quality.
Her debut album is highly anticipated, and there is no reason to believe we will be disappointed.
