Stat Quo and Wale clapped back at each other online after Stat and Justin Hunte discussed Wale's "everything is a lot" album.

Stat Quo is known to make some wild comments on The 3rd Verse Podcast with Justin Hunte from time to time. Sometimes, he even gets a response from the artists he's talking about. After Wale called out Stat's negative commentary on him via Twitter, the former Aftermath artist and commentator clapped back.

As caught by CY Chels on Twitter, this all started with a conversation between Hunte and Quo about the DC rapper's everything is a lot album. Stat had said the DMV MC makes great music for women, but thinks people don't rock with him as much because he "doesn't seem likable" in his public appearances. However, he said he makes "phenomenal music" and lamented this presumed lack of connection, but said it's a reality he has to navigate.

While Stat Quo said the "Talk To Me" lyricist comes off like a "buster," he admitted he has only had good interactions with him on a personal level. This led to a response: "Spewin Old tired narratives for a few dollars . It's all happening ."

On another episode of The 3rd Verse Podcast, Stat clapped back by saying Wale doesn't "push the needle" and said he's down to have a conversation. He doubled down on his perception that the artists comes off unlikable, and said he'd call him a "buster" to his face. However, Quo said Wale could "wash" A$AP Rocky in a Verzuz battle but Rocky has grown due to his likability and presence.

Stat Quo & Wale Beef

These criticisms towards Wale kind of came out of nowhere, and led to a lot of defense and debate online. Fans just want to hear good music at the end of the day, but Stat Quo believes he didn't capitalize on his hits or wasn't as successful as he could've been due to his attitude.

Elsewhere, Wale has been living his life and growing his extracurriculars, along with putting out great material. So his simple but sly response to this situation was quick in order for him to return to that. We'll see if the "Overthink" MC has anything else to say about this matter or if he lets his music speak for itself against narratives like these.

But more specifically, he digs for the deeper side of hip-hop conversations, whether that’s the “death” of the genre in 2023, the lyrical and parasocial intricacies of the Kendrick Lamar and Drake battle, or the many moving parts of the Young Thug and YSL RICO case. Beyond engaging and breaking news coverage, Gabriel makes the most out of his concert obsessions, reviewing and recapping festivals like Rolling Loud Miami and Camp Flog Gnaw. He’s also developed a strong editorial voice through album reviews, think-pieces, and interviews with some of the genre’s brightest upstarts and most enduring obscured gems like Homeboy Sandman, Bktherula, Bas, and Devin Malik.
