Eminem’s feature on Kid Rock’s “7 Sins” is stirring debate as fans look back at his 2017 anti-Trump ultimatum.

This is a far cry from taking a knee during his Super Bowl performance. It looks like one of Eminem’s most famous political lines is getting a fresh workout. Kid Rock recently revealed that his fellow Detroit native will appear on “7 Sins,” a track from his upcoming Christian album Halfway 2 Jesus. According to The Detroit News, the 17-track project arrives October 17 and marks their first recorded collaboration in years. The surprise feature immediately revived an old question because Eminem once drew a very public line between himself and supporters of Donald Trump.

During his 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards cypher, Eminem told Trump-supporting fans, “I’m drawing in the sand a line,” before ending the ultimatum with “f*ck you.” A year later, he softened the framing on Kamikaze, admitting he would reword the message and saying he empathized with people he believed Trump had misled. Still, Eminem’s political position didn't quietly disappear. He appeared at a Detroit rally for Kamala Harris in 2024 and spoke about protecting people’s ability to express political views without fear of retaliation.

Kid Rock has spent those same years becoming one of Trump’s most visible celebrity allies. He has performed at MAGA events and joined Trump at the White House, where The Associated Press reported that he stood alongside the president during a 2025 executive order targeting ticket scalping. In 2024, Kid Rock called his own position “unequivocally MAGA” while openly acknowledging that he and Eminem disagree politically.

Their Friendship Has Already Survived The Political Divide

The two artists have considerably more history than the new album announcement suggests. Eminem appeared on Kid Rock’s 1998 breakout Devil Without a Cause track “F*ck Off,” before The Slim Shady LP turned him into a superstar. Kid Rock later popped up in Eminem’s 2013 “Berzerk” video, and their Detroit connection has remained intact even as their politics moved in opposite directions.

Kid Rock addressed that split directly in 2024. “I love Eminem, we’ve been friends for many years,” he said in a pro-Trump video. “I don’t agree with his politics, but I do give credit to him and people like Taylor Swift for standing up and not being afraid to be vocal for that which they believe.” Eminem responded without touching the political argument, writing, “Here’s one thing @KidRock and I do agree on… GO @Lions!!!! Appreciate you, Bob.”

This announcement already has social media talking long before the track's October 17 arrival. Check out a few reactions below and let us know if you're ready for another collaboration between these two Motor City artists.
