A livestream turned into a medical emergency Thursday (Oct. 1) when Ray J was rushed to the hospital after becoming ill at Fab Factory. Paramedics were seen treating the singer as he lay shirtless with medical equipment attached to his chest, while his mother, Sonja Norwood, was also present on the stream. Sources described the issue as heart-related, though no specific diagnosis has been announced.

Someone at Fab Factory called the fire department and an ambulance once Ray began having health problems. He was eventually transported from the building, with TMZ reporting that the call was strictly medical and that nothing suspicious surrounded the incident. The scare interrupted “Rayhab,” his planned 180-day streaming marathon, where he has reportedly been staying awake for long stretches at a time.

Ray J Has Already Faced Serious Heart Problems This Year

Thursday’s emergency follows a difficult year for Ray’s health. He was hospitalized in January with pneumonia and heart pain, prompting doctors to run chest X-rays and an echocardiogram. The hospitalization came several years after another severe bout of pneumonia left him requiring oxygen.

His heart became a concern again months later after his celebrity fight with Supa Hot Fire. Ray spent four nights in a Las Vegas hospital after being knocked out in the second round, later saying his heart rate had abruptly slowed. He also reported chest pain and abnormal heart patterns as doctors evaluated him following the fight. These earlier scares make it harder to brush aside seeing Ray receive emergency treatment in the middle of a livestream as just another chaotic streaming moment. Check it out above.
