Fort Dix has moved Diddy back into solitary while officials investigate reports of contraband and special treatment.

A new round of scrutiny inside FCI Fort Dix has landed Diddy back in solitary confinement. Sources told TMZ that Sean Combs is being moved into the prison’s Special Housing Unit while officials investigate allegations that he had access to contraband and unusually comfortable perks behind bars. The move follows an NBC News report claiming inmates cooked for him, cleaned his living space, gave him massages, and helped maintain access to items he was not supposed to have.

Among the more serious allegations was a contraband cellphone that sources said Combs used to access Instagram and view sexually explicit photos. NBC’s reporting also alleged that he drank premium liquor, paid other inmates through outside money deposited into commissary accounts, and used a jailbroken tablet. A representative for Combs pushed back on the coverage, saying the media was turning “ordinary prison life” into spectacle and insisting that he continues serving his sentence within the rules.

The Investigation Marks Diddy’s Second Trip To Solitary

According to TMZ, placing Combs in the Special Housing Unit is standard procedure while prison officials investigate the allegations. The Bureau of Prisons has not publicly confirmed the specific claims against him, citing privacy and security rules. However, they have said inmates are prohibited from possessing cellphones and can face discipline for contraband violations.

This is not Combs’ first stint in SHU. He was placed there in July after a fight with another inmate and was released from solitary several weeks later. Sources told NBC that once he returned to the general population, the alleged perks resumed.

The timing is notable because Combs’ projected release date has been moving in the opposite direction. Bureau of Prisons records currently list January 21, 2028 as his release date, earlier than several previous projections. He is serving a 50-month sentence after being convicted in 2025 on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Jurors acquitted him of the more serious racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.
