The Air Jordan 3 "Flip" concept is reportedly making a comeback for 2027. This time it's arriving in an all-new "Red Flip" colorway, expected February 13th during Super Bowl LXI weekend, carrying the style code JA7983-636.
An updated mock-up shows a shift from earlier all-red images. Red elephant print still covers most of the upper, keeping that signature "Flip" concept intact. White laces now stand out against the red base, while a black ankle collar and heel wrap add real contrast instead of blending into the rest of the shoe.
A white midsole replaces the black one shown in earlier mock-ups, paired with a grey outsole finishing things off. That combination gives the shoe a cleaner, more traditional Jordan 3 look compared to the fully tonal version first reported. Chrome eyelets and classic Jumpman branding round out the design.
With Super Bowl LXI somewhat just around the corner, this is shaping up to be one of the more exciting Jordan Brand moments of the entire weekend. Expect more rollut as the NFL season progresses and we inch closer to the big game.

The "Flip" idea first launched back in 2007, taking the Jordan 3's signature elephant print and spreading it across the entire upper instead of isolating it to the toe and heel. That reversal gave the shoe a much more aggressive, textured look overall.
A "Black Flip" version followed in 2011, sticking to that same reworked placement in a darker, more tonal execution. Since then, the concept has remained mostly quiet, making any potential return a big moment for longtime Jordan 3 collectors.
Super Bowl weekend has more and more become a launch platform for Jordan Brand's biggest retro drops in recent years. Dropping the "Red Flip" during that same window keeps it as a likely main release heading into 2027.
Given how much the color-blocking has already changed between mock-ups, don't treat this specific design as final until official images actually surface.
