As part of the New Rory & Mal podcast and as a former cohost on The Joe Budden Podcast, Rory Farrell is no stranger to beef with other hip-hop commentators. This recently manifested in the headlines again after he pressed QueenzFlip at a New York City club during Flip's livestream. QueenzFlip, a current JBP cohost, had called him and Mal "suckers" in the past, and Farrell decided to confront him about it. During his most recent podcast episode with Jamil "Mal" Clay and Demaris Giscombe, the artist and podcaster explained why he chose to act.
HipHopKlipz36 caught some New Rory & Mal highlights on the matter on Twitter. Mal spoke on disengaging negative energy in the room, suggesting it wasn't the "time and place" to confront Flip. Rory agreed and said he's never on "tough guy s**t," but argued he will always handle situations head-on and explained his thinking. He also said he owes Demaris an apology for being wrong (she and REASON were there when it happened) and suggested his solo mentality that disregards crews might be "only child syndrome."
"I'm not saying Flip had any intentions to do any of this... If he says I'm out of my mind, he could very well 100 percent be telling the truth," Farrell remarked of the confrontation at the "Girls Love Karaoke" event on Wednesday (September 23). "We were at the end of the bar. I saw the cameras [for QueenzFlip's livestream]. And I saw a play about to happen. So I got ahead of it."

Mal and Demaris disagreed with this perspective and justification, and Rory admitted it's not an excuse. His male cohost, however, called the assessment "fair" concerning the cameras, but emphasized Farrell's understanding that he may have read the situation wrong. Rory apologized to Flip and said he probably misread the whole thing and spoke on always praising him over the years. This is what made him feel a way when QueenzFlip dissed Rory and Mal.
"I don't approach nobody," Mal added, saying he would handle this completely differently. "I don't have any issues with anybody... If y'all got an issue with me, you are more than welcome when you see me to approach the issue. I would just say, approach it with the right energy is all I'm saying."
Rory Farrell also said he had a "nice conversation" without cameras at one point and spoke on always being ready to fight alone. But Demaris pushed back on this because he wasn't alone; she was there, too. "I screamed at him in the middle of the street, 'I'm tired,'" she remarked. "My only point in this... When you are with people, it doesn't matter what energy you wanted to convey. We are in New York City, you don't walk up to another grown man and say, 'Nah, we suckers, right?' [...] You have now put me and REASON in an uncomfortable predicament, whether it was off-camera or not... You have now changed the energy of the entire party... All it takes is male ego, alcohol, the wrong cousin... And elevate it now."
Rory said he isn't proud of that, but was well-aware of everything that came with it. We'll see if QueenzFlip addresses this situation concerning the former Joe Budden Podcast host. Elsewhere, he had other situations to handle, as Remy Ma called him a "b***h" at this "Girls Love Karaoke" event.
