Lil Durk still has another trial on the horizon as he faces VICAR charges, with authorities accusing the rapper of running a criminal enterprise. This trial was supposed to begin in November, but given recent developments, it appears the trial could be delayed until 2027.
We say this because late last week, it was revealed that Durk would have a bond hearing on November 4. A bond hearing would be moot if the trial were ongoing or had already occurred. Therefore, the speculation amongst reporters and lawyers following the case is that the defense and the prosecution will be given more time to prepare.
Lawyers like Bradford Cohen have made the prediction that Durk will eventually get bond. Given his not guilty verdict in the murder-for-hire case, the argument is that it will be difficult for the VICAR charges to stick. Consequently, the judge will show leniency and allow Durk to receive bond for the first time in this two-year process.
However, DJ Akademiks doesn't seem to buy into this. During his livestream last night, he made the prediction that Durk will not get Bond.

The commentator's logic is simple. He believes the allegations made in the VICAR case are simply too heinous for the judge to grant bond. Furthermore, he doesn't believe the charges will be thrown out either. Given the fact that a conviction comes with a life sentence, he doesn't foresee Durk getting out of this quickly as others do.
While Akademiks isn't commenting on Durk's chances of winning the case, he is making it clear what he believes the expectation should be at the bond hearing in November. It's a hearing that is still over a month away, and lots can happen during that time.
