The Air Jordan 4 "Fire Red" is set to return Fall 2027 for $230. It's expected through SNKRS, Foot Locker, Finish Line, Shiekh, and Hibbett. This marks the colorway's first release since 2020.
This is one of 4 original Air Jordan 4 colorways from 1989. It's the last of that original group still waiting for its 2020s comeback. Jordan Brand has already brought back the other three over the past few years.
White leather dominates the upper here. Black hits the wings, mesh netting, heel, and portions of the midsole. Fire Red wakes everything up around the eyelets, lining, tongue, and heel branding.
Grey rounds out the outsole for some added contrast. Nike Air branding is expected to return on the heel tab too. That detail first came back during the 2020 release after years of Jumpman-only branding.
According to zSneakerHeadz, we can expect an even closer-to-OG shape and toe this time around. Updated mesh and netting should also be part of the build. Improved cushioning rounds out the list of expected changes.
Full family sizing should be available as well, including grade school, preschool, and toddler pairs.

Air Jordan 4 "Fire Red"
"Fire Red" has returned a handful of times since its original release. The 2006 version added Mars Blackmon artwork to the heel. That nod tied back to Jordan's early advertising work alongside Spike Lee.
A 2012 retro switched things up again, swapping in Jumpman branding instead. Many collectors felt that version drifted furthest from the original shape. The 2020 pair course-corrected by bringing Nike Air branding back and tightening up the build.
This 2027 version looks to continue that same trajectory. Getting closer to the 1989 original has become the clear priority with each new release. For longtime fans, that attention to detail matters just as much as the colorway itself.
With this release, all 4 original Air Jordan 4 colorways will have returned within just a few years of each other. That gives collectors a rare chance to complete the entire original lineup in the same era.
