This is the first of two shows Jay-Z is hosting at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend, and he brought out Lauryn Hill and more.

Jay-Z brought out a lot of special guests at his Yankee Stadium shows earlier this year, a treat he also offered fans at the first of his two London shows (Friday, September 4). This time around (and at press time, as the concert is still going on as of writing this article), Hov enlisted Idris Elba, Giggs, Wyclef Jean, and Lauryn Hill to accompany him onstage.

Elba was onstage to do the American Gangster intro, whereas Giggs' appearance follows Jay shouting him out on "GOD DID" a couple of years ago. As for the Fugees members, Ms. Hill and Wyclef reunited to perform their hit "Ready Or Not," and they also reportedly performed "Killing Me Softly With His Song" and "Fu-Gee-La."

Also, Hov made sure to wish his wife Beyoncé a very happy birthday, encouraging the crowd to sing for her and letting fireworks fly before performing "N***as In Paris." It seemed like a great time overall, and it was amid a lot of other Jay hits and special moments. We'll see if there are even more special guests for the next London concert, which will take place tomorrow (Saturday, September 5).

Jay-Z's London Concert

Of course, all of these moves from the Roc Nation mogul have fans hoping for a new Jay-Z album. There have been a lot of rumors about this possibility, with the Roc itself shooting down claims from Ray Daniels that the album was done.

However, Hov fans expressed deep disappointment when a mysterious listening party livestream did not actually premiere or preview any new music. So there are still folks who are tired of all the anniversaries and retrospectives. When will we get new music from the Brooklyn rapper, if at all?

We will just have to wait and see. If there is really a new LP on the way, Jay-Z would have a lot to talk about. Attacks his way from Drake and others have dominated the discourse in 2026, and some folks want a rap battle to go down. In any case, it's clear all this momentum will build to something, even if it's just a big paycheck from these performances in the worst case scenario.
