DJ Akademiks went on a lengthy rant about Rob Markman on Monday evening, and Drake decided to send a text message.

Drake is someone who isn't too fond of the current state of hip-hop media. This is mostly because the prominent figures are the ones criticizing him the most, barring a few exceptions.

One of those exceptions is DJ Akademiks, who has the OVO chain to prove it. He has consistently gone to bat for Drizzy, and more recently, has taken up the fight against Roc Nation.

On Monday, Akademiks found himself in crash-out mode, with his target being Rob Markman and hip-hop media. Even HotNewHipHop caught a stray in the rant, although that is neither here nor there.

The rant comes after Markman accused Akademiks of using an army of clippers to push narratives. In response, Akademiks said that Markman and his ilk were nothing but a bunch of article writers who have never broken a story in their lives.

Ak then went on to say that the real journalists are the likes of "What's The Dirt" and "Trap Lore Ross." He even shouted out Nancy Dillon of Rolling Stone, who typically has the latest details on big court cases.

Drake Texts Akademiks

This rant culminated in a shoutout from Drake himself. In the middle of his stream, Akademiks revealed that he had received a text message from the ICEMAN MC. The artist was reportedly very fond of what Ak had to say and was praising him for the humor in his crash-out. Needless to say, Drake is not a fan of Markman nor his peers.

Drake's beef with hip-hop media will continue for as long as he is criticized. The Kendrick Lamar beef did him no favors, and two years later, he still has a bone to pick.

At this point, it appears as though those relationships are irreparable barring a miracle.
