Erykah Badu and The Alchemist continue building anticipation for their collaborative album with their newest single "Witch Doctor." The song spans nearly six and a half minutes and gives Badu plenty of room to experiment over Alchemist's soulful, percussion-heavy production. She plays with the idea of a "witch" as a medium while dropping references to fictional witches and other familiar names from pop culture. The record follows their previously released "Next To You" and offers another glimpse into their unlikely but fitting creative partnership. Their currently untitled collaborative album arrives August 28 after reportedly being recorded over 18 months between Dallas and Los Angeles. The project explores different sounds ranging from soul, blues, funk, rock, jazz and underground hip-hop.
