After losing the chance to work with ASAP Rocky, Allan Peters apologized and explained why he shared the message.

The designer whose excitement cost him a possible collaboration with ASAP Rocky is now trying to close the book on the misunderstanding. Allan Peters issued an apology after sharing a private message from the rapper, explaining that he deleted the post as soon as he realized Rocky considered it a breach of trust.

Peters said he was genuinely surprised to see Rocky’s name in his inbox. The rapper had contacted him about revising a brand logo and asked about his rates, prompting the designer to post a screenshot of the exchange for his more than one million Instagram followers. Peters later noted that sharing messages from well-known people was not unusual for him, but this particular post landed differently.

Rocky responded publicly beneath the screenshot and called the decision “distasteful.” He also ended the potential working relationship on the spot, writing, “Well I guess we won’t be working, best of luck buddy.”

Putting It All Behind Him

In his follow-up video, Peters did not challenge Rocky’s reaction or attempt to argue that the message was harmless. He said he understood that the rapper was unhappy about having a private business inquiry placed online and removed it immediately. His apology appeared directed at putting the dispute behind them rather than salvaging the logo assignment.

The exchange became an unexpectedly large conversation about the boundaries between professional access and social media content. Peters viewed the message as an exciting career moment worth sharing. Rocky saw the post as evidence that a private conversation could not remain private before any agreement had been reached. Check out Peters's post below.
