Q-Tip & DJ Khaled Dedicate Beats 1 Shows To "International Women’s Day"

Apple Music has big plans for the month of March, as far as "Visionary Women" are concerned.

To mark the occasion of International Women’s Day, both DJ Khaled and Q-Tip have dedicated their Beats 1 radio shows with special kind of programming. It just so happens that both Khaled and Tip are on the schedule (as per usual) on this special occasion, their Apple Music podcasts airing tonight one after the other at 8 pm and 9 pm (Pacific Time) respectively. On the docket: a curated selection of their favorite female artists, enough an hour's worth of material each.

Tonight's episode of Abstract Radio comes to us advertised with a vague setlist consisting of music from Erykah Badu, Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Solange, Aretha Franklin, Missy Elliott, Chaka Khan, Janet Jackson, just to name a few. DJ Khaled's We The Best Radio gets the once-a-year makeover, thus becoming She The Best Radio for as long as he remains on-air. Khaled plans to play a mixed bag consisting of his personal female favorites: Foxy Brown, Remy Ma, Nicki Minaj, and Lauryn Hill whom he spends a good amount of time big upping while on-air.

Both segments were pre-recorded yet were never circulated outside the Apple offices, until now. For the rest of the month, Apple Music will be running a continuous program called VISIONARY WOMEN, highlighting the incredible work of women who fit the description. As part of the programming efforts, Apple will be uploading personally-curated playlist from the likes of Cardi B, Camila Cabello, P!nk, Brandi Carlile, Halsey, Tierra Whack, Summer Walker, Lauren Daigle, and Bebe Rexha, until the month of March comes to an end.
