Big news for Lil Uzi Vert as he celebrates yet another success with the news that The Perfect LUV Tape has been certified gold by the RIAA. Predominantly produced by Maaly Raw and Don Cannon, the mixtape produced standouts "Erase Your Social," "Seven Million," and "Do What I Want," becoming an essential for any Uzi fan. The follow-up to Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World dropped in July of 2016 and, while it took a while to go gold, it confirms that the project has a sizeable lifespan. Uzi has continued to stack hit after hit, dropping Luv Is Rage 2 last year and building an impressive catalog.
Producer and frequent collaborator Maaly Raw shared the news on Instagram, captioning his picture, "More Blessings" and hashtagging a few of the songs he worked on. Uzi recently shared a mysterious photo to his own Instagram story, prompting some to believe he would drop on Valentine's Day. While the prospect of a Lil Uzi Vert release is exciting, it didn't materialize and we will wait to hear more about a potential BUT LOVE WAITS. project.
Uzi has more than enough music to plan release after release, as per Don Cannon, the only question that remains is when we will get the next full Uzi project. For now, TPLT is still extremely listenable, given the RIAA Gold certification, and we're fine listening to it again. Congrats, Uzi!
