While the Grammy's have ended a few months a go, there's still more award shows to go. Today, the Billboard Music Awards have unveiled their nominees and as expected, there's a lot of hip hop acts that are being recognized for their work. After a highly successful year following the release of DAMN., Kendrick's currently tied with Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars for the most amount on nominees while Post Malone trails behind them with twelve. Drake and Taylor Swift are both tied for 9 nominations a piece.
With the Billboard Music Awards here, some of our favorite established and breakthrough artists are getting their proper recognition. For Top artist category, Drake and Kendrick Lamar compete with Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. The top new artist category consists of predominantly hip hop and R&B with 21 Savage, Cardi B, Kodak Black, Khalid and Camila Cabello receiving nominations.
The top rap artist category has Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Migos, Lil Uzi Vert and Post Malone competing. One of the strange things about the Billboard Music Awards is that the Top Rap Female Artist category has Nicki Minaj and Cardi B competing with Bhad Bhabie.
