Kanye's been getting more unexpected by the day. After a making a song with Lil Pump and debuting it at a Pornhub event, he tweeted a photo of himself and Tekashi 6ix9ine posted up against a car (Consequence was also there). There are now more photos that have surfaced–on the Instagram of Don Canon, Tekashi's photographer–that show the two talking in the studio, with the caption "ahh shit it's going up."
Although six months ago, this collaboration would have been unthinkable, it now already has a precedent. In an interview a few weeks ago Kanye named Tekashi (along with Lil Pump and XXXTentacion) as one of his favourite rappers, a strong statement considering that 6ix9ine is the artist that older generations are most skeptical of.
The reason for Kanye's new and unexpected relationships is still up in the air. Is he being earnest in his admiration for these artists or is he showing his age and simply trying to get attention by piggy-backing on the hype of younger rappers?
