Chrissy Teigen, Luna Simone Stephens and John Legend attend John Legend's launch of his new rose wine brand, LVE, during an intimate Airbnb Concert on June 21, 2018 in Beverly Hills, California.

Legend gives his opinion on who deserves the crown.

"I just want to let everybody know that I'm the king of R&B right now," boasted Jacquees in the now infamous social media video. "I understand who done came and who done did that and that and that but now it's my turn. Jacquees, the king of R&B" His words earned him the scorn of some OGs. Tank, Tyrese, and Pleasure P were among the R&B heavyweights that stood against Jacquees' claims. While the OG's suggested that Jacquees needed more time in the game, the younger generation struck back, arguing that the older heads just don't understand.

It appears that John Legend and Chrissy Teigen understand though. The happily married couple took to Twitter to insert themselves in the hot debate. "The heated debate on my timeline is who is the current king of r&b," tweeted Teigen. "It’s a doozy of a thread and hilarious. but it leaves me asking what kind of music does john make? his (sic) he left out of this?" Legend can't be left out of any R&B discussion, but he doesn't even think of himself as a king of R&B.

"Honestly I don't think there is a king of r&b right now," Legend tweeted. "Anyone consistently dominating the charts, selling out arenas, etc, a la Usher at his prime." He then doubled back to throw two names into the discussion. "Part of me is talking myself into saying Bruno or the Weeknd but I'm not sure they neatly fit into the genre." Do you agree with Legend?
