While some were busy arguing about who currently sits in the throne as R&B's greatest male artist, Trey Songz and Chris Brown were combining their shine. A few behind-the-scenes shots of what seems to be a music video were shared online. Since the content appears on Trey's socials, we can assume that whatever they are working on is set to be featured on his next project.

The "I Gotta Go" crooner posted a couple of pictures to Instagram with endearing captions. One shows Trey stepping towards the camera while pointing at it and Chris Brown chilling in the back. Songz wrote about their longtime friendship: "Since 04 with my nigga. I’m just happy to be here." The other image frames both artists standing somewhat back to back with smiles on their faces. The caption includes a response to a running gag between them: "Maurice & I." Peep the shots below.

According to Tank's description of what it takes to be crowned "King" within the genre, both of these artists would be contenders in the contemporary realm: "Vocal ability, consistency, sales, relevancy, longevity, albums, innately a crooner, etc." Still, Chris Brown and Trey Songz have been virtually silent during the ongoing debate. Maybe royalty and hustlers don't have time to entertain that kind of discussion.
