The Beastie Boys (L-R) Adam Yauch, Mike Diamond and Adam Horowitz perform at the Kroq Weenie Roast 2004 concert held at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on June 12, 2004 in Irvine, California.

Get the inside scoop on the history of the Beastie Boys.

Before Post Malone or Eminem were around, the coolest white boys in the rap game were three Jewish boys from New York who rapped over guitar riffs and had Rick Rubin as their DJ. After decades of success, and the unfortunate passing of member Adam "MCA" Yauch in 2012, it was announced that the group would be writing a memoir.

Now, we finally have a hard release date for when we'll be able to get our hands on the book. According to Hip-Hop DX, the Amazon pre-order link puts the release date as October 30th, 2018.

Mike D promoted the book on his Instagram today, saying, "I’m not sure if you remember or not, but a while ago we said that we were gonna write a book about our band. Well, it’s almost done and it’s coming out soon, and this is what it’s gonna look like. Kinda nice, right? It’s got a little something for everyone." The cover shows the three of them back in their heyday, standing in front of "Stromboli Pizza", which the most New York name for a pizza place ever.

According to the Amazon description of the book, readers should expect, "revealing and very funny accounts of their transition from teenage punks to budding rappers; their early collaboration with Russell Simmons and Rick Rubin; the almost impossible-to-fathom overnight success of their debut studio album Licensed to Ill; that album’s messy fallout; their break with Def Jam, move to Los Angeles, and rebirth as musicians and social activists, with the genre-defying masterpiece Paul’s Boutique."
