Mac Miller's debut album "Blue Slide Park" is projected to sell 100,000 units in its first week, whereas two years ago, Asher Roth's debut album "Asleep In The Bread Aisle" only moved 62, 000 in its first week. News <p>Pill recently revealed that he was never signed to Maybach Music Group, despite the fact that he appeared on the label’s group compilation Self Made Vol. 1 and was seemingly part of the squad. News <p>Recently reports have been circulating the internet that Jay-Z says he will not use the word "bitch" again, since the birth of his daughter. There was a poem, supposedly written by him, which has also been circulating and is cited along with these reports. Sources close to the rapper however have declined to confirm or deny its authenticity. The poem was first published by Rolling Out, and they did not cite a source for the poem.</p>

News <p>T.I. and Dr. Dre are reportedly shooting a video for their collaboration "Popped Off," included on Tip's latest mixtape release Fuck Da City Up , or a previously unheard duet.<br />

In a series of tweets, entertainment manager Antonio Hewlett announced a casting call for a T.I. and Dre music video. The clip will be shot in Atlanta, Georgia next weekend.<br />

Tip, who previously worked with Dre on a leaked Detox track "Topless," recently spoke on developing the chemistry between him and the West Coast veteran in the studio.<br />

News <p>For many hip-hop heads the golden-era of hip-hop was during the '80s-'90s. For those of you who believe that is true, you might enjoy <em>NPR</em>'s "The Record". Every other Friday they are looking at some of the first hip-hop music videos, which were played on a TV show called "Video Music Box". "Video Music Box" was created back in 1984, and was the first show to document hip-hop music and culture (and it's still on today!). The show was created and hosted by a man named Ralph McDaniels.

News <p>Despite the fact that the Rick Ross’ <em>Rich Forever</em> was undoubtably the most downloaded mixtape last week, many hip-hop fans have paid closer attention to the Drake verse that was seemingly directed at Chicago rapper Common on the French Montana assisted, “Stay Schemin’” track.</p>
<p>Although Drake didn’t say Common’s name, Common has already replied with a diss record over the same beat and has specifically called out Drake for his use of singing during his raps and the sensitive nature of some of his songs.</p>
