Is Apple about to buy out Tidal?

It appears Apple is trying to eliminate one of their top competitors in the streaming world. According to The Wall Street Journal, Apple is currently in talks to purchase Tidal.

Sources close to the story are claiming that  negotiations are currently on-going, but no official deal has been reached yet. Reports are saying that the purpose for Apple’s surge at Tidal is to obtain the right to their exclusive artists, which include Beyonce, Kanye West, Rihanna, Madonna, Usher, J Cole, & more.

If you remember, we heard a similar story like this before back in February when tech mogul Samsung was rumored to be purchasing Tidal back then. However, as we know that never came to fruition, and both companies eventually denied those allegations. But Apple? That sounds a little more serious & likely considering they’re both the top two dogs in the streaming world.

For what it’s worth, a TIDAL spokesperson told The Wall Street Journal that TIDAL executives had not held talks with Apple, but of course they’re going to say that at this stage of the process.

We’ll keep you posted on this developing story once more information surfaces or is confirmed.
