Although he may have missed out the Spotify crown, there's no disputing that Pandora users love Drake's music before anyone else's
As per a new report from Billboard, the More Life rapper notched 9 of the 100 most popular songs of the music streaming platform, making him the king of the service's hip-hop landscape. "Fake Love," "Portland" and "Passionfruit" all landed inside of the Top 30, with his feature on Gucci Mane's "Both" landing in that group as well.
In general, hip-hop was very well represented on Pandora, with several other popular artists landing several songs in the most popular 100 of 2017. Migos came in behind Drake with the second-most (5), while the likes of Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane and Quavo nabbing four tracks each. These tallies include their respective work as either the main or features artist on a track.
21 Savage, Post Malone, Ty Dolla $ign and Bryson Tiller were also among the names that graced the list of Pandora's elite from the hip-hop world. The gains made by the genre as far as music streaming popularity shouldn't surprise anyone at this point, after the news of Spotify's 74 percent increase in the genre's song spins being just another piece of evidence to support this theory. There's no telling how far that percentage can climb in 2018, but there's no doubt that rap's biggest money makers are hoping to continues to grow in leaps and bounds.
