It's a special occasion for arguably the world's hottest hip-hop artist: Cardi B turns 25 today (October 11th). The former reality TV sensation has parlayed her once-scoffed at fame on social media into a blossoming music career where she's already accomplished the rarest of feats by having her single, "Bodak Yellow," hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. With that milestone, she is now the first woman to have an unassisted rap track hit the Hot 100 pinnacle single Lauryn Hill did it in the late-1990's with "Doo Wop (That Thang)." In short, Cardi is a woman who has a lot to celebrate this year, and her high-profile beau Offset was ready to start the deluge of birthday messages she'll be receiving on a heartfelt and personal note.
Just in case you weren't sure if Offset was really excited or not, his Instagram captions were an all-caps fiesta of love and affection. H A P P Y B D A Y U ARE AMAZING TO ME YOU GOT IT OUT DA MUDD NO HELP NOBODY WAS BELIEVING AT FIRST," he wrote. "BUT THAT MADE YOU GO HARDER U NOT WEAK U TAKE CARE YA WHOLE FAMILY AND ME 👅👅 I L O V E Y O U 👸👸👸👸💍💍💍💍." Clearly, the Migos member is nothing but smitten with his chart-topping boo, with the couple becoming more and more visible on red carpets and at high-profile events with each passing. Who knows - maybe we'll get an Offset-Cardi collab (the "Endless Love" of hip-hop?) before it's all said and done. That aside, judging from Cardi's own Instagram uploads, she's ready to make 25 her most memorable year yet.
