By now, most of you are aware that the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards were aired Tuesday night where Eminem stole the show with his attacks at President Donald Trump. Aside from Em though, this year’s cyphers saw the likes of Fat Joe, Denzel Curry, Tee Grizzley, 6LACK, Belly, Cyhi The Prince, J.I.D & more all blessing the mic with some bars backed with DJ Premier on the boards.
But before all that aired Tuesday night, BET decided to release their Instabooth segment over the weekend, which served as a precursor to Tuesday night’s cyphers. With Big Tigger playing host, over a dozen artists stopped up the mic to lay down some rhymes, including DJ Khaled (and his son Asahd), Millyz, Dave East, Bre-Z, A$AP Ferg, T-Pain, Tammy Rivera, Waka Flocka, Michael Dapaah, Jasmin Brown, Vince Swann, Tristen Winger, Mysonne, Cozz, Tee Grizzley, XXXtentacion, Zoey Dollaz, YFN Lucci, and Diddy’s son, King Combs.
While pretty much everyone brought the heat, it was Dave East, ASAP Ferg & XXXTentacion who arguably shined the most in this 10-minute freestyle segment.
“Claim you want me, that’s something that you just gotta prove/Lotta jewels, Gucci uniforms like it’s private school/Crazy me wearing these red bottoms, been throwing em’ out the blue/Young rich nigga, probably find me where Stella got her groove,” Dave East spits.
Meanwhile XXX, who was wearing a black & white mask, spits the following… “Rap quitter, never for the sack, nigga/ Who blizzards this rap, bigger than men of a pack/ Grin to the top of the gat, grip, and I'm busting up white niggas/ Tarter or plaque, nigga?
