Kay Floc shares an open letter from behind bars and shows love to Casanova, YNW Melly, Boosie Badazz, Young Thug & more.

While the world of drill music continues to face criticism surrounding violent content that some believe furthers criminal acts, one of the frontrunners of New York’s rap scene has spoken out. Kay Flock, who police arrested on a murder charge in December, shared an open letter on Instagram where he vowed to use his platform and influence for good. He first apologized to his family, friends, and supporters before detailing his charges. “If you know me, you know that I have a good heart but you also know I’m damaged inside and hurt from my past,” he said.

The rapper explained that he “lost two of my brothers to gun violence” while incarcerated. “They bring up the negative but never bring up the positive. Everything I do is from the heart and genuine so most thing was never recorded or spoken on,” he added. “They keep trying to paint this picture of me but I won’t fold. Now they want to label us a gang when it reality we are a family, and music group that used rap to help change our lives.” However, the rapper explained that he wants to set a better example for the younger generations that look up to him.

Kay Flock’s “Stop The Violence” Campaign

As a result of the charges against him and the potential of a death penalty if convicted, he explained that he wanted to spread a better message to his fans and followers. “I’m starting a #StopTheViolence campaign, they say I have a huge influence, only this right here will tell,” he said. From there, he gave a shout out to “my co-ds, to the ones that’s never coming home, to the ones that stood ten toes, and also to the rappers that are all facing these battles when life was just getting better.” He specifically shouted it out Casanova, Young Thug, YNW Melly, MuWop, Hotboii, Pooh Shiesty, Tay K, Sheff G, and Lil Boosie.

He added in the caption, “This a PSA To All My Fans And Love One’s ‼️ If We All Come Together And Move As One We Could Change The World To a Better And Safer Place #StopTheViolence … Pray For Me.” In addition to the murder charge, a grand jury also indicted Kay Flock on RICO charges in February. The rapper faces numerous counts of racketeering charges as an alleged member of Sev Side/DOA gang. We’ll keep you posted on anymore updates surrounding Kay Flock. Check his post above.
