Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop" is now a certified platinum record, having sold approximately 1.1 million copies to date, sitting at No. 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The video for the single currently has 42,582,973 views on YouTube. Their debut album The Heist is currently at No. 46 on Billboard’s Hot 200 chart, having sold 22,000 copies this week alone. These are impressive accomplishments for artists with no major label backing and hardly any mainstream promotion.

Earlier in the month, after the holiday shopping surge, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' breakout hit "Thrift Shop" surpassed a million copies sold and was certified platinum. Now, according to Billboard, before the month was even over the track has reached a staggering Double Platinum and now has over 2.3 million copies sold. The track also sits atop Billboard's Top 100 for the second consecutive week.
