Stephen A. Smith has spoken with Jake on numerous occasions.

Stephen A. Smith is someone who has a lot of different opinions on a very wide range of topics. Overall, he can pretty well talk to you about anything. Whether it be basketball, football, and even baseball, you can be sure that Smith is going to give you a piece of his mind. Ultimately, this is exactly why Smith has become such a huge success over at ESPN. Consequently, he is constantly being given more responsibilities, and nearly every show wants him on as a contributor. Needless to say, Smith has certainly earned his $10 million per year salary.

Additionally, Smith has also shown a ton of interest in combat sports. On a few occasions, Smith has added his voice to ESPN's UFC coverage. Moreover, he is also a huge fan of boxing. In fact, his interest in boxing has led him to interview athletes like Jake Paul. Paul is a big name in the boxing world right now, whether people like it or not. Smith understands this and has spoken to the young man on numerous occasions. During an impromptu interview with Baller Alert, Smith actually got to give his true feelings on the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

Interestingly enough, Stephen A. has a great deal of respect for Paul. Overall, he believes the young man is very talented, despite what some might say. After all, he has defeated some big names in the ring, including Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva. “I don’t know how good he is, but I know he’s good based off of what we’ve seen. I know he’s somebody that should be respected on a multitude of levels,” Smith said. “Boxers need to appreciate him more because he is showing them that there’s a way to make money without being at the mercy of the promoters.”

Despite what Smith may say, there are still going to be people who doubt Jake Paul. Although, he will have an opportunity to prove those people wrong as he gears up to fight Tommy Fury.
