After it was reported this summer his conviction has been overturned, more good news befalls Brendan Dassey and his family. A federal judge has issued an order today to release Dassey from custody with certain restrictions. Unlike the overturning of Dassey's conviction, this order officially sets Dassey free.

Dassey was convicted for being an accessory to Steven Avery in the murder case made famous by Netflix's "Making A Murderer." With his post-custody restrictions, Dassey is not permitted to leave the eastern part of Wisconsin, get a passport, or obtain any controlled weapons or substances. Dassey is also restricted from having any contact with the family of Teresa Halbach, the victim of Dassey's accused crime.

A new season of "Making A Murderer" is currently in the works.
