Idris Elba is not an athlete by trade. He is also 44 years old. That doesn’t seem to be stopping him from trying to become a professional kickboxer in a new Discovery Channel UK show called Idris Elba: Fighter.
The British actor used to kick box and fight for training in his twenties, but that’s a lot different than kickboxing around the world professionally in places like Cuba, Japan and Thailand. He aims to go pro in exactly 12 months time, and is doing this as a personal goal since he’s got plenty of money in the bank from his storied acting career.
The show begins on January 17. Hopefully it will make its way over to the United States sooner rather than later. Learn more at Discovery UK.
