Another stellar year for hip-hop. As the digital market continued to flourish, singles did accordingly. From Chicago trap to New York boom-bap to Houston trill, it’s all here. Not only were the year’s top singles diverse, but their marketing tactics were unique as well (take Kanye’s “New Slaves”, for example).
It is no surprise that Kendrick Lamar and DJ Mustard had monster years, and their success is reflected in this list-- funnily enough, K. Dot had no single in 2013 yet appeared on many records. Additional names that appear numerous times are the likes of Drake, Future, and 2 Chainz. With 2014 on our doorstep, we compiled a list of the Hottest Singles Of 2013-- these take into account the views a track received on our site, as well as their popularity not only on HNHH but around the world, plus the strength of the record itself.
