Jay-Z's mother Gloria Carter will lead the young achievers on a tour of 11 historically-black colleges.

Jay-Z's The Shawn Carter Foundation is now working with Toyota in an effort to entice young people to consider higher education in historically black institutions. The program will send these high achievers on a bus tour of 11 different college campuses across the Eastern peninsula, beginning in Washington, DC, and ending down the coastline in Atlanta, Georgia.

The students selected for the tour will be categorically-defined by the academic term that precedes many of the major decisions that go into college enrollment, like SAT testing, etc. Jay-Z is hopeful that after taking this trip, the prospective students will choose between these 11 historically black colleges and universities in their pursuit of higher education. The program is thereby conceived as a power-taking measure, meant to destabilize the status quo and empower Black ownership. Nipsey Hussle would be gleaming with pride.

During the bus tour, the prospective students will gain special access to resume-building seminars, as well as one-on-one meetings with various of the school's admissions counselors.  The Shawn Carter Foundation is staffed to accommodate any number of the student's inquiries throughout the process. Although Jay-Z won't be on hand to kick things off, he's put his mother Gloria Carter in the de facto position as the tour's lead administrator. 93.9 WKYS radio personality Angie Ange and Creative Writing M.F.A. Candidate Candice Wong will also play a prominent role in the tour's deployment, kicking off this week in Washington.
