J. Cole is hosting his third-annual Dreamville Weekend, which kicks off today.

J. Cole's Dreamville Foundation has been hosting a charity event known as the 'Dreamville Weekend' annually for the past two years, and 2014 will be no exception. Kicking off today (March 6th), the event will be going on in the rapper's hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina until Saturday March 8th.

The weekend will consist of various events, including a discussion of the young adult nove, "Tyrell" with author Coe Booth, and 'Appreciation Dinner' which spotlights leaders in the community.

J. Cole explained his goals for the experience in a press release, explaining that the weekend is intended to make youth aware of their own potential.

“For our 3rd Annual Dreamville Weekend, we really wanted to involve the entire community to help everyone grow as whole,” said Cole. “We are happy that we’ve been able to put together these events that will hopefully encourage our youth to stay on a positive path through our schools and community organizations."
