Lamar Davenport will serve 20 years behind bars.

Morgan Freeman's granddaughter, E’Dena Hines, was just 33-years-old when she was stabbed to death outside of her New York apartment by her boyfriend, Lamar Davenport. Lamar was previously convicted of manslaughter but was acquitted of murder last year, People reported, and his lawyer tried to argue that he was high on PCP at the time of her stabbing.

Text messages prove that E'Dena had planned to go on a break with Lamar which could have sparked his outrage. Lamar reportedly straddled E'Dena and while he stabbed her dozens of times, he yelled: “I love you. I always loved you. God would have wanted this."

"He was yelling things about releasing the devil out of her," another witness said of the brutal attack. "And then he pulled out a knife, and then he proceeded to stab her multiple times... I was in shock when I saw him take out the knife. I don't know where it came from."

TMZ now reports that Lamar has been sentenced to 20 years in prison, four years after the tragic event. After his release in 20 years, Lamar will be placed on five-year supervision.

Continue to rest in peace, E’Dena.
