Lil Wayne's daughter Reginae Carter will be displaying her acting talents in a new Lifetime movie. As reported by Deadline, Carter is set to star in Pride And Prejudice: Atlanta. The film is a modern-day take on the classic Jane Austen novel, which is based on a family that was blessed with multiple daughters. The father, Mr. Bennet, is in a predicament because his property is entailed, which means his daughters cannot inherit it. Bennet and his wife are interested in marrying their children off to a wealthy man that can take care of them when their parents pass away. Carter will play one of those daughters.
The main cast will be comprised of African-Americans, a stark difference from the original novel and film. Reginald VelJohnson and Jackée Harry will play Reverend Bennet and Mrs. Bennet, respectively. The five single daughters: Lizzie (Tiffany Hines), Jane (Raney Branch), Mary (Brittney Level), Lydia (Reginae Carter) and Kitty (Alexia Bailey) will have their eyes set on Will Darcy (Juan Antonio), a new bachelor that has arrived in town. Pride And Prejudice: Atlanta will be directed by Rhonda Baraka. Since the setting has been shifted to modern-day Georgia, issues that pertain to the most relevant generation will replace the old-school narrative of the novel.
