It's been nearly a year and a half since 21 Savage released his debut album, Issa Album. The project put 21 Savage in a league of his own among the new generation of rappers. Since then, he landed a number one single on Post Malone's "Rockstar," scored a VMA and a BMA and also released a joint project with Offset and Metro Boomin, Without Warning. However, fans have been eagerly awaiting his sophomore release. Thankfully, it appears as if we won't have to wait that much longer.
21 Savage took to social media to reveal that he's done his album. The rapper shared a photo of himself grinning ear-to-ear on Instagram with the caption, "when the album done" followed by a grinning emoji.
The Instagram post comes after a few days of teasing a release date. He confirmed that the project will indeed come before the end of the year, but yesterday, he teased a late-October, early-November release date.
"1?.?6.18," he tweeted. Many fans began to speculate that the project will drop on either October 26th or November 16th. Both dates fall on Fridays which is the typical date for commercial albums to drop.
Aside from his upcoming release, 21 Savage is also nominated for three BET Hip Hop Awards for the notable collaborations he's done this year. He's nominated in Best Featured Verse category for his verse on Cardi B's "Bartier Cardi." He also landed two nominations in the Best Collabo, Duo Group for his work on Post Malone's "Rockstar" as well as Offset & Metro Boomin's "Ric Flair Drip," although he's not on the song.
