Drake Passes Jay-Z & Lil Wayne For Most Top 10's On Billboard Hot 100

Drake's "Scary Hours" EP brings the rapper to 22 top 10 singles.

Drake's Scary Hours EP seemed to have sealed the deal on his position in not only hip hop but the music industry as a whole. The EP's crowd favorite, "God's Plan" broke both Spotify U.S. and Apple Music deals and debuted at number one this week. Now, the EP's second cut, "Diplomatic Immunity" helped him solidify a position on the charts that only some of the greats managed to reach.

Drake has surpassed Jay-Z's record for most top 10 records on the Billboard Hot 100 among rappers, Billboard reports. "God's Plan" debuted at number one and "Diplomatic Immunity" launched to number seven. The new feat surpasses Jay-Z's 21 top 10's he has under his belt and prior to the release of the EP, Drake was tied up with his mentor, Lil Wayne, with 20.

The EP also marked Drake as the first artist in music as a whole to debut two songs in top 10 twice. The first time around was last year with More Life cuts "Passionfruit" which landed at number 8 and the Quavo and Travis Scott assisted "Portland" which hit number 9.

The numbers on "God's Plan" are all adding up in a bit of a week since it's release. According to chartdata, the single is now eligible for Platinum status.

Now that he's at the top of the charts within hip hop, he's now gunning for all genres. The rapper is currently tied with Taylor Swift for most top 10's with Madonna leading the pack with 38, The Beatles with 34, Rihanna with 31 and Michael Jackson at 39.
